Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language horror thriller film directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh and jointly produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan. It is based on a true accident that took place in Mumbai,[3] and tells the story of a couple on an abandoned ship lying static on a beach. The film features Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Ashutosh Rana in lead roles,[4][5] and is the first film of a planned horror film franchise.
Principal photography began in December 2018 and was wrapped up in September 2019.[6] It was theatrically released in India on February 21, 2020.[7]

Production[edit]
In January 2018, it was reported that Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar have signed a horror film produced by Karan Johar together.[8] The filming began in December 2018, with Kaushal, while Pednekar filmed her portions in late January.[9] Kaushal fractured his cheekbone while shooting for an action sequence in Gujarat. A door fell on him which resulted in him getting 13 stitches.[10] The shooting of the film ended on 3 September 2019 as Kaushal shared a post on his Instagram account.
Marketing and release[edit]
The two official posters of the film were unveiled on 19 July 2019 by Kaushal with release date. Another set of posters were released on 13 September. A week later, on 20 September, a poster was unveiled to announce the new release date. The film released two new posters on 30th January 2020[11].
The film was initially set to release on 15 November 2019 but later it got delayed and finally released theatrically on 21 February 2020.[12]
The official teaser of the film was released on 31 January 2020 by Dharma Productions.[13]The official trailer of the film was released on 3 February 2020 by Dharma Productions.[14]

Box office[edit]
Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship earned ₹5.10 crore net at the domestic box office on its opening day. On the second day, the film collected ₹5.52 crore. On the third day, the film collected ₹5.74 crore taking total opening weekend collection to ₹16.36 crore.[2]
As of 6 March 2020, with a gross of ₹36 crore in India and ₹2.88 crore overseas, the film has a worldwide gross collection of ₹38.88 crore.[2]
